Dr. Clarence Warren Mills

Dr. Clarence Warren Mills, age 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, neighbor and friend. He graduated from Woodlawn High School, University of Alabama, Howard College (Samford) and University of Alabama School of Dentistry. During his college years, he worked as a part-time short-order cook in his parents’ restaurant in Woodlawn, Mills Restaurant.

He practiced Dentistry for 42 years in the Roebuck area. He was a long- term member of Ruhama Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Later, he was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church where he served on the Fire House Shelter cooking team. He loved the Lord and enjoyed studying the Bible in Community Bible Study for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Elsie Mills and his grandson Brian Sheppard.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Bette Mills; his sister Jean Hughes; his son Warren Mills (Christine and her children Amy and Robby); daughter Judy Sheppard (Dudley); grandson Patrick Sheppard; great grandchildren Lily Sheppard, Rosie Sheppard and Silas Sheppard.

He loved spending time with his family and his dog Ginger. His hobbies of quail and dove hunting and fishing gave him many happy memories. Recently his wife Bette commented to him, “We have had a good life.”

The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care by the Friendly Home Caregiver Team led by Kimberly Prater.

Visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial, Trussville location, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm which will be followed by a celebration of life service in the chapel at 2:00 pm.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Fire House Shelter in Birmingham, Al or to a charity of your choice.
