Clara Anne Keeble

Clara Anne Keeble, 85, of Birmingham, AL, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 14, 2021.

Clara was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 12, 1935. She was a graduate of North Fulton High School and received her Bachelor's degree in Secretarial Science at Alabama Polytechnic Institute in Auburn, Alabama.

Clara is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Vachel Lee Keeble, Jr., and her parents, Margaret Alice Clague Horton and Harold Munroe Horton.

She is survived by her two children, Vachel Lee Keeble, III (Robin), and Alice Freeman (Jimmy); her sister Winifred Horton Martin; six grandchildren, Heather Keeble Johnson (Ben); Sandy Keeble Phillips (Wendell); Treyce Keeble Peeples (Max); Vachel Lee Keeble, IV (Christina); James Wyatt Freeman, IV (Julie) and Clayton Alexander Freeman; her great-grandchildren; Jacob Brooks Johnson, Carter Lee Johnson, Walker Tate Johnson, Elizabeth Lee Phillips, Anne Louise Phillips, Joshua Wayne Newell Holcombe, and Michael Vachel Lee Keeble.

Clara was a member of Center Point Primitive Baptist Church. She was employed by Clarke American as a Production Typist and Proofreader for 24 years before retiring in 2003.

She had a love for animals and enjoyed raising Chihuahuas, Yorkies, and Persian cats. She loved spending time with her family and friends and traveling with them to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Panama City Beach, Florida or other destinations.

She had a love for making people feel special and enjoyed making those around her laugh. She will be missed by all the people whose lives she touched.

The family would like to thank the loving staff at Right at Home, Village at Cook Springs Nursing Home, and Oasis Hospice for their compassionate care of our Mother.

Graveside service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the garden of Good Shepard on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 1 P.M. The family request that masks be worn for the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Clara's memory to the Pell City Animal Shelter; 1071 Airport Road; Pell City, AL 35218; (205) 814-1567.
