MOORE, CLARA A., a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her died at the age of 83 on December 29, 2009. Clara retired from Avon as a sales representative after 25 years of service; she touched the lives of all of her clientele as many became lifelong friends. She was a former member of Inglenook United Methodist Church and Boyles United Methodist, where she taught Sunday School and was head librarian at both locations, and was currently a member of Irondale Methodist Church. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from Alabama College for Women, which is now University of Montevallo, and taught school for three years. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Alexander Moore and her sister, Mary Crider. Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Herbert "Snooks" Moore; four children, Bruce Moore (Barbara) of Macon GA, Ellen Bryant (Michael) of Birmingham AL, Thomas Moore (Kim) of Madison AL and Glenn Moore (Susan) of Sumiton AL; one sister, Elizabeth Garrett of Atlanta GA; grandchildren, Emily Hendrick, Rebecca Moore, Burns Farley, Amy Swiney, Patrick and Kevin Bryant, Tabitha and Ryan Moore. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel services beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Gary Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or Irondale Methodist Church. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
