Clara Ilene Keeton, age 88 of Pinson went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 19, 2013. She was a retired computer operator from Bell South, taught in Birmingham City Schools, and was a member of Springville Road Community Church. Clara was an accomplished choir member and pianist. She gave piano lessons from home and was very passionate about music. She loved the Lord and greatly cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed visiting her hometown in Jasper, AL. Clara Keeton was preceded in death by her parents, Clark Ray and Nora Conner Ray; and her sister Iva Lee Redmill. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Barr (Jim) Fort Worth Tx., Jane Gill Clay, AL; Son, David Keeton (Connie) Jasper, AL; 9 grandchildren, Angie McClinton, Jeb Barr (Beth), Lindy Hydrick (Charlie) , Brian Green, Joey Barr (Jackie), Amy Montgomery (John), Julie Barr, Davey Keeton and Dalana Tucker (Matt); 12 great grandchildren, Carley Hydrick, Alex McClinton, Gracyn Hydrick, Stephen Barr, Makayla Montgomery, Ty Hydrick, Jacob Barr, Elena Barr, Jonathan Barr, Clay Montgomery, Libby and Piper Tucker; her nephews Rodney, Jerry and John Redmill of Jasper. Pallbearers are Jeb Barr, Joey Barr, John Montgomery, Clay Montgomery, Davey Keeton and Griff Redmill. Special thanks to CareFirst Hospice nurses LaShawn, James and Eric, aide Cassandra, sitter Lillie and to Linda Bartlett, Rev. Thad Blount and the wonderful church family at Springville Road Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Springville Road Community Church, 2165 Old Springville Road, Birmingham, AL 35215.Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7:00- 9:00 pm on May 23 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, AL. The service will be 11:00 am Friday, May 24 at Walker Memory Gardens in Jasper, AL with Reverend Thad Blount and Reverend Jeb Barr officiating.
