Clara Carlin

Our dear mother, Clara Helen Baskin Carlin, passed away on September 17, 2024 at the age of 86. She was always there when we needed her most, offering support, wisdom and love. She was born in Pennington Alabama on November 27, 1937. She was the oldest daughter of Johnnie and Myra Baskin. Clara was raised in Birmingham and graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School.

Clara enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, knitting, crocheting and going to the casinos with her friends. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Milton Carlin, parents, Johnnie William Baskin and Lillian Myra Baskin; one daughter, Judy Darlene Little and one brother-in-law, Walter Coy Whited.

Clara is survived by two daughters, Michelle Warren (Steve) and Tracy Wilder (John); her sister, Johnnie Lynn Whited; five grandsons, Blake Wilder (Emily), Phillip Wilder (Camile), Daniel Warren (Judith), Seth Warren and Sam Carlin; and two great-grand daughters, Sydnee Wilder and Scarlett Rae Wright Warren.

There will be a visitation on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.

Special thanks to her caregivers with Always There in Home Care. The family would like to express love and heartfelt gratitude to the staff and nurses at Kirkwood By The River and Compassus Hospice for the exceptional care of our mother.
