Christine Buzbee

Memorial service for Christine Willis Buzbee, 90, of Birmingham, will be Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial. Mrs. Buzbee passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Greenbriar at the Altamont. She was born March 3, 1929, in Birmingham to Henry and Bessie Willis. She was then raised by her step-mother Nellie Willis, after her mother passed away. She was a 1947 graduate of Shades Cahaba High School and worked as a private duty nurse. Christine held many roles: wife, mom, mother-in-law, aunt and spectacular quilter and crocheter. But, she most loved her role as Grandmother and sharing her love of old movies and crafting with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Worthy Buzbee, Jr.; her parents, Henry, Bessie and Nellie Willis; her brothers, Curtis Willis and Norman Willis. She is survived by her 4 children, Wesley Buzbee (Karen), Chelsea Barrington, Steve Buzbee (Pat), Brian Buzbee (Rhonda);9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, Lamar Willis; sister-in-law, Ann Willis. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
