Chester Murch

MURCH, CHESTER, age 81 of Center Point, AL passed away on July 31, 2009. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He retired from Southern Natural Gas Co. in 1989 with 40 years of service. Mr. Murch was a member of the Zamora Shrine and he was also a Mason. He began his military career in the Coast Guard. He served in the Air Force during WWII and served in the Army 31st Infantry during the Korean War where he fought at Heartbreak Ridge. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Warene Murch; son, Chester Murch, III (Nancy) of Redlands, CA; daughter, Karen Kelly (Royce) of Pinson, AL; sister, Margaret Smith of New Port Ritchey, FL; 5 grandchildren, Raleigh Holmes (Michael), Hollye D'Amico, Amanda Kelly all of Trussville, AL, Neysa Novac (Rob) of San Diego, CA, and Chester Murch, IV (Rebekah) of Redlands, CA; 3 great grandchildren, Michael Holmes, Jr., Alexander Holmes, and Faith D'Amico all of Trussville, AL. Services will be Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 2PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:30 to service time. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Joseph Mills will be officiating. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
