Charles Street

Charles Richard Street, age 78, of Birmingham, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. He was raised in Gadsden and graduated from Gadsden High School in 1954. He graduated with a degree in Accounting from The University of Alabama in 1959 where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Richard had a very successful accounting career in Birmingham, first in public accounting, then as Vice President of Bama Foods and Senior Vice President of Finance at Alabaster Industries. He was an active member of Huffman Baptist Church for over 47 years. Richard was a kind, gentle person who loved people and never met a stranger. He loved fishing, golf and Alabama Football. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Katie, his son, Stuart, and his parents Foster and Robbie Street. He is survived by his daughter, Sharen Alfano (Jerry) of Moody; son Rich Street (Leesa) of Auburn, his brother in law Larry Cofield (Barbara) of Guntersville, his grandchildren Christen Sparks (Ryan), Jessica Nicholson (Adam), Anna Fortune (Chris), Kathleen Latham (Ty), Gabrielle Neely (Stewart), Jeri Bagley (Jeff), and Sterling; great-grandchildren Mamie, Luke , John Stuart, Aubrey, Jude, Levi, Kate, Hagen, Ryce and Chip. Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2015 from 5pm until 7pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. Services will be at Huffman Baptist Church Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 1pm.
