Charles Dixon Phillips, Jr.

November 10, 1931 — March 21, 2025

Charles D. Phillips Jr., age 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Annist Phillips, his siblings, Sylvia Ann Gilliam and Robert L. Phillips, and his loving wife of 74 years, Janice Lee Phillips. He is survived by his four children, Pam Simpson (Bubba); Jan Paseur (Lynn); Kris Burnett (John); Julie Sparks (Alan), his siblings, Richard A. Phillips (Barbra); John H. Phillips (Karen); Maragret Phillips; Ralph E. Phillips (Kathy), and his beloved 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Charles was a generous and God fearing man, always ready to lend a smile or a helping hand. He retired from many long years of hard work with American Cast Iron Pipe Company (ACIPCO) in Birmingham, AL. Charles served as a deacon at his church, where he enthusiastically volunteered his time whenever they allowed. He enjoyed yard work, woodworking, and spending time with this family in his free time. Charles was a man of unwavering faith, love, honesty, and respect, leaving an impressionable mark on anyone who crossed his path. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charles' celebration of life will be held at 11:00 in the morning on April 03, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, Alabama, with a service to follow at noon. The service will be in care of Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, officiated by Reverend Jamie Walley and Mark Enoch. Bearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church of Trussville, AL.
