Charles Rollen Loyed, age 79, died Saturday, May 2, 2015, at The Village at Cook Springs nursing home after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Jim Henry and Sarah Francis Loyed. He leaves behind two daughters, Janet Whitmore (husband Joe), Brenda Huffstutler (husband Kelly), one sister, Maelean Blanchard, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty Joyce McCoy Loyed, to whom he was married 53 years before her death in 2009. He was also preceded in death by ten siblings. Mr. Loyed was a retired construction worker and loved the outdoors. You could normally find him working in his garden, working on his truck or taking care of his yard. He enjoyed spending time with family and was a very loving husband, dad, Papaw, and friend to all. He was a member of the Odenville Church of God of Prophecy where he and his wife attended for many years. He loved giving of his time, skills and abilities whenever possible. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at 12:00 Noon at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, Alabama. Visitation with the family will be held at 11:00 A.M. prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to Relay for Life. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
