Charles Jackson

Charles “Charlie” Jackson, age 78, of Trussville, AL passed away on June 1, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Charles was a native of McCalla and a graduate of McAdory High School. He graduated from UAB and served as a firefighter for over 28 years and retired as a Captain in 1994 from Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service. He served as Vice President for the Birmingham Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 117.  Charles was a part of the Men on Missions ministry and a member of the choir with First Baptist Church of Trussville. He was a skilled clock and watchmaker for over 50 years. He enjoyed working on British cars and traveling while selling software. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Karen; his children, Shawn Jackson (Heidi), Reid Jackson and Carlee Jackson; grandchildren, Monica McChesney (Clifton), Meleah Jackson; one sister, Dot Rosser; three brothers, Preston Jackson (Ann), Johnny Jackson (Gail) and Robert Jackson (Martha); numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Charles’s life will take place at First Baptist Church in Trussville at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 11th. The family will gather with friends two hours prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to Men on Missions at First Baptist Church of Trussville, Alabama Baptist Children’s Home or to the Big Oak Ranch.
