Charles Mark Goforth left his earthly home 8/11/2011 to go and meet his Papa Charlie at his heavenly home. Mark was born 7/3/62 in Birmingham, Al. He was predeceased in death by his father, Paul Goforth and his grandparents, Charles and Ruth Butler. Mark leaves behind to grieve his loss: Mother, Attie Sue (Javier) Rendon; Sister: Sharon (Jimmy) Swindall; Children: Mark (Justine) Goforth; Amy (Paul) Jordan; Grandchildren: Jessica Goforth and Cadence Jordan; Step Mother, Sue Goforth; Half-Brother: Bo Goforth; Step-Brothers: Henry(Linda) Rendon and Fred Rendon(Mary Jane); Step-Sisters: Laura (Lenny) Ortega and Isabella(Pueblo) Szundryck; Aunt: Mary Stanton. A host of nieces and nephews. Ex-Wife, Andra Goforth Smith, the mother of his children and caregiver during his illness. Last but certainly not least, his dog and constant companion, Zak. Mark served in the U.S. Army when he was only seventeen years old and stationed in Germany and Ft. Hood, TX. After he was discharged from the Army, he married, started a family and owned his own furniture moving business. Later after closing his business, he worked as a pipefitter in commercial refrigeration. Mark also became an electrician. Mark was an Avid fan of Nascar racing, loved Alabama football, and flying model engine airplanes. Mark never met a stranger, his love for people and his ability to help them, was one of the things he strongly believed in. Although we will miss Mark, we know that he is free at last from all his suffering and pain, and is now enjoying his new home and his new body. "Charlie Mark" will live on in our hearts and we will one day reunite with him again. Services will be on Saturday, Aug 13 at 10am in the Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
