Charles Goad age 87, of Pinson, AL passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Charles was born in Portia, Arkansas and attended Portia High School. He was a long-time member of Pinson First Baptist where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed working hard and tending to his yard. He loved spending time with his family and was a very devoted care giver to his wife, Billie Goad for the past 8 years. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, James and Pearl Goad and his brother, Armon Goad. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Billie Goad; his two daughters, Linda Reaves (J.D.) and Susan Logan (Doug); one son, Mike Goad (Trish); brother, Oland Goad; nine grandchildren: Jamie Kersh (Lori), Stacy Vann (Blake), Ashley Kersh (Tony Romano), and Daniel Logan (Jennifer Watson), Joy Reaves Dawson (Heath), Kathy McKee (Blake), Jenny Yerby (Jason), Wendy Bayer (Eric) and Brien Kieth (Jennifer); fifteen great: grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 4pm on Sunday, April 6th at Pinson First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at the church also two hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at 10am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in Trussville on Monday. Reverend David Awtrey and Brother Eric Sorrell are officiating. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville is directing.
