age 84, a former resident of Lincoln, AL and current resident of Cooks Springs nursing Home in Pell City, AL passed away early Thursday morning on Jan. 2, 2014.

Charles worked as a Car Foremen for the rail road for 45 years before retiring at the age of 62. He loved his family without condition and enjoyed fishing and watching Alabama football.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Chapman. Charles is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Horton (Joel) and Margaret Doriety; sons, Roy L. Chapmen (Sherry) and Charles W. Chapman, Jr., (Sheila Pardue); several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service for Charles will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at 12 noon at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Pastor Andy Waites is officiating. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville is directing.
