Cecil Smith

Cecil M. Smith, age 83, of Center point, Al passed away on September 13, 2008. Cecil was a loving and proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a faithful member of Center Point Methodist Church for 54 years, member of Good Samaritan Sunday School Class. He was a graduate from Phillips High School. He retired from the U.S Postal Service in1981. He served in the Army Air Corp in WWII in Korea and retired from the Air Force Reserve as a Major. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Pricilla Smith; one brother; two sisters; and grandson Grant Smith. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years Sybil M. Smith; three sons, Gary Smith (Leigh), Ronald M. Smith (Donna), Steve Smith (Vikki); sister, Patsy Sandefer; brothers, Amos Smith (Dot), Jimmy Smith (Hester); grandchildren, Beau, Niki, Jenny, Jessica Smith, Caitlin (Scott) Tidwell, Erica Smith; great-grandchild, Zoe Tidwell. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Rev. Amy Vaughn and Joan Pinson officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, September 15, 2008 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
