Catherine (Cat) Irene Jolly, 71, of Irondale, died at 2:30 AM, Thursday, April 9, 2014 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was born August 30, 1943 in Jacksonville, Alabama, to Lewis and Bessie Garmon. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, David N. Jolly.
Also surviving are her two children April Weimer (John Weimer) of Clovis, New Mexico and John Jolly (Carolyn Jolly) of Cumming, Georgia; her granddaughter Annaliese Weimer and two grandsons Michael and William Jolly; sisters Arnevis Neal of Pinson, Jimmie Lee Freeman of Arab and brother John Garmon of Birmingham, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her mother Dessie Irene Garmon and father Lewis Garmon, one son, David Naaman Jolly, Jr. and sisters Ann, Tommie Lou, Effie, and Marie.
Catherine was a long time resident of Birmingham and Irondale where she lived since leaving her childhood home of Arab at the age of 19. She graduated from Fairview High School in 1963 and worked at the Birmingham East Nursing and Rehabilitation for 27 years. She enjoyed her job and was passionate about spending time with her grandchildren.
The visitation is from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, April 13 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
