SPC Casey Jordan Doss, 27 of Birmingham, AL went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2015 from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident near Anniston, Alabama. He is survived by his parents, Phil and Becky Doss; 2 brothers, Jake Doss (Karen), Bo Doss (Kristen), niece Sarah Claire Doss and grandmother Louella Doss; many cousins, aunts, uncles, a precious girlfriend Candace Davis and a host of special friends, especially Daniel and Cynthia Mosley. He is preceded in death by his infant brother, Nathan Joshua Doss; grandparents, J.C. Doss and Porter and Lena Cowden. Casey was a Christian and a member of North Clay Baptist Church. He was a much loved son and brother. He was a kind- hearted, sweet soul and an amazing friend to everyone he came in contact with. Most of all, he was a proud soldier and a true hero for serving and defending his country. Casey served with the 1151ST Engineer Company 3rd Platoon and served one tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2013-14. He attended Hewitt Trussville High School, loved Alabama football, playing his guitar and spending time with friends and family. The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 12:00 on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. The service will begin at noon in the chapel and burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pall bearers are SGT Daniel Mosley, SSG Jason Edmondson, WO Jodie Edmondson, SFC Ray Johnston, Cynthia Mosley and Justin Bolling.
