Carrie Triola

Carrie Sartino Triola passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years, in the presence of her loved ones, on January 27, 2018. Carrie was born on August 11, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Margaret (Mangina) Sartino; her loving husband of 49 years, Anthony Vincent Triola; and their son, Pascal "Pat" Triola. She is survived by her sister, Frances Campis; her daughter, Teresa (Kent) Tucker; five grandchildren: Mary Esther (Richard) Watson, Stephanie (Matt) Krajcik, John (Margaret) Tucker, Matthew (Holly) Tucker, and Katherine Tucker; six great-grandchildren: James Watson, Patrick, Thomas and Maria Krajcik, and Isabelle and Ava Katherine Tucker; and nieces and nephews. Carrie was a graduate of Hewitt High School. She worked as a bookkeeper and in the library for over 20 years at the old John Carroll High School. She was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She found great comfort and joy in her Catholic faith. In her recent years, Carrie enjoyed video chatting with her grandchildren and their families from her home in Trussville. Throughout her life, she enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, and cooking Sunday pasta for her family.

The funeral mass will be held Tuesday, January 30, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2 Xavier Circle, with burial at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, Rev. Robert Sullivan officiating. Visitation with be from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. The family would like to express sincere thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Linda Hinson, Mary Jordan, the staff at St. Martin's in the Pines Rehab and the Cottages, the medical staff of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center CCU and 5th floor, and Compassus - Hospice and Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Guardian Angel Society at John Carroll Catholic High School or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
