Carrie Self

Carrie M. Self, age 96, of Calera and formerly of Birmingham, AL passed away on January 13, 2018. She was an active member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. The funeral service for Mrs. Self will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19th at Jefferson Memorial Chapel in Trussville with burial at Jefferson Memorial's adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Barry McGowin, Sr. is officiating. Mrs. Self was preceded in death by her late husbands, Avery Eugene Robbins and Mason Booth Self. She is survived by her daughters, Marie Bridges, Carol Harbison, Gina Bible and Karen McGowin (Barry); her son, Glen Chonko (Diane); grandchildren, Joey, Steve and Byron Bridges, Kenneth Harbison, Anita Jackson, Michelle Aderhold, Allyson Kilgo, Grant and Kailee Chonko, James, Jacob, Andrew, Lindsey and David McGowin; 12 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Baughn; brother, Robert Montgomery (Ella Mae); numerous nieces and nephews.
