Carolyn Gardner Ross, age 89, passed away January 11, 2016 after many years in the nursing home suffering from Alzheimer's disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy "Red" Gardner and Bertha Durham Gardner. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, David Ross, son Lane (Sharon) Ross, daughter Kay (Kerry) Lovvorn, granddaughter Dusty (Brian) Sivley, grandson Kris (Ginger) Lovvorn, brother Sidney (Jane) Gardner, step-grandson Troy Waller, step-granddaughter Angel Myers, 3 step great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Carolyn worked for the Social Security Administration for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. She was a great wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a member of Huffman United Methodist Church, and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She loved to travel and had been to all 50 states and visited 51 countries. She traveled with the Friendship Force and was home hosted in several countries. Visitation will be from 11am until 12pm Thursday with Chapel services at noon. The burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Oneonta.
