Carolyn Blakney

Carolyn Blakney, age 80, of Birmingham, passed away on October 1, 2012 at St. Vincent's Hospital East. She was retired from Walker Drug, and was an avid Alabama football fan. Mrs. Blakney was a member of Huffman Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Blakney; son, Terry Joe Blakney; parents, Henry and Mamie Wood; and a sister, Dorothy Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Murry; her son, Charles Blakney (Janet); two brothers, Billy Wood and Bubba Wood; four grandchildren, Ashley Dailey, Brian Blakney, Tracy Roberts, and Cheyenne Murry; two great-grandchildren, Willow Roberts and Ella Daily, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home from 5 until 7 pm. Funeral Service will be Thursday in the chapel at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the adjacent gardens. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
