Carol W. Lane

Carol W. Lane who was also known by Carol Sue, Momma and MiMi to the world, passed away on November 9, 2023. Carol was born on May 12, 1939, and throughout her remarkable life, she left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and friends will forever be cherished by her loved ones.

Carol embarked on a distinguished career, dedicating an impressive 43 years of service to Bellsouth as an Engineer. 

Beyond her professional achievements, Carol was our guiding light in a world full of Chaos.. Her warm smile could brighten even the darkest of days, and her kind heart had the power to bring comfort to those who needed it most. She possessed an innate ability to make others feel valued and heard, making every interaction with her truly memorable.

Carol is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Daniel Lane Sr.  

She leaves behind her son; Mike Lane (Gloria); daughters, Nikki Branch and Lee Self; sister, Becky Romano (Jake), grandchildren, Sunie Torbert (Shawn), James Lane, Paeton Hill, Chaney Hicks, Kaitlyn Lane, Jack Lane, Kyle Torbert, Tucker Torbert, Josh Glaze, Kyla Glaze, Lindsey Gardner, Logan West and Jordyn West; adopted son and best friend James (Jim) Tyler.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home located at 1591 Gadsden Hwy in Birmingham, Alabama on November 16, 2023. The visitation will take place at 1:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to share their fond memories of Carol. Following the visitation, a Funeral Service will commence at 2:00 p.m. Burial will conclude in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fulton Springs Methodist Church.
