Ann Fraser, a long time resident of the Huffman area went to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday at the age of 79. A native of Birmingham she was a graduate of Woodlawn High School where she was a member of several organizations.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Ann would be introduced to Hollis C Fraser at a local softball game by her sister in 1953 and married a year later. Ann and Hollis, both born again Christians surrendered to the call of the ministry at 66th Street Baptist in 1961, and would serve the Lord faithful for 38 years in the states of Mississippi, Florida, Virginia, and Alabama.
Hollis and Ann returned to the Birmingham area in 1980 where she worked at AM South and Regions Bank. She retired in 2000.
Ann was a faithful member of Huffman Baptist Church serving as a teacher of her Sunday school class, and singing in the Celebration and Happy Hearts choirs.
Ann and Hollis would have celebrated 61 years together this past Thursday, April 9th. Honoring this union, the Lord blessed Hollis and Ann with two boys, Jeff and Scott, and two adopted daughters Holly and Melody.
Ann was preceded in death by both her father and mother, Clifford Grover and Allie Eugenia Holland Campbell, her brother William Donald Edward Campbell, and her sisters Eva Marie Daniels and Shirley Jennett White, and one grandchild, Jeffrey Michael Fraser. She is survived by her husband, Hollis, two sons, Jeff and wife, Theresa, of Alexandria, VA, Scott and his wife, Priscilla, of Conyers, GA, two daughters, Holly Lowe, and Melody Folmar and her husband Pete, of Vestavia, as well as nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Gadsden Highway, on Saturday, with a visitation at 9:00 A.M. followed by a service at 10:00 A.M.
