Carmelo Russo

Mrs. Carmela "Millie" Russo, a native of New York and resident of Clay died Tuesday, July 17, 2011 at St. Vincent's East at the age of 96. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Bill) Martin of Clay; a son, Frank A. Russo of Olathe, KS; four grandsons, Christopher Martin of Danbury, CT, Brian (Joy) Martin of Birmingham, AL, Timothy Martin of Mobile, AL, and Todd Martin of Cincinnati, OH; seven great grandchildren, Cassandra Martin, Michael Martin, Timothy Martin, John Paul Martin, Therese Martin, Gianna Martin, and Mariana Martin; one sister, Lucille Votto of Brooklyn, NY; several nieces and nephews, all of Brooklyn, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Russo was a member of the Pilgrims of Mary at Our Lady of the Bay in Theodore, AL and was also a member of several other prayer groups. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from St. Barnabas Catholic Church on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 2 pm with Father J. Michael Wrigley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
