Carla Brooks Williamson, 71, of Tarrant, Alabama went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 13, 2021 after a short battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Carla will be remembered for her wonderful singing voice in the Rock Methodist choir. She was also honored to share this talent at many weddings and funerals of friends and family throughout her life.
Carla was born in Birmingham, Alabama on March 23, 1950. She graduated from Tarrant High School in 1968. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jeanette Brooks. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Lynn, of Tarrant, Alabama, daughter, Kristi Greenway (Johnny) of Trussville, son, Brent, of Tarrant, grandchildren, Abbie Grace and Andrew Barber of Trussville, brother, Kent Brooks (Nancy) of Indian Springs, Al., sister, Sandie Savage (Jerry) of Moody, Al. and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friends Janet Thomas and Claudia Matthews. Carla loved attending all the events her grandchildren were involved in doing and will be watching down from heaven.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 18th from 6:00-8:00 at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville with funeral services on Thursday, August 19th at 12:00 in the chapel with Brother Sam Frazier officiating. A private burial will take place at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Kirkland Clinic Hematology/Oncology Department at UAB and Oasis Hospice for their care during these past few weeks. A special thank you to Belinda Greenway for her time, love, and care during this time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Rock United Methodist Church.
