Carl Wright

Carl F. Wright, age 83 of Pinson passed away on December 7, 2008. Carl was a former member of Valley Baptist Church and retired from the Birmingham News with 44 years of service. He was a World War II Navy Veteran who later retired from the Navy Reserves in 1972, and a member of Jack's morning coffee crowd in Pinson AL. Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Lillian Hammett Wright. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Robertson of Alexandria, AL and his son and daughter-in-law, James M. "Marty" and Eunice Wright of Pinson AL; one sister, Yvonne Wright of Birmingham; three granddaughters, Carla Robertson Morris (Mike) of Alexander City, Cathy 'Robertson Couch (David)of Jacksonville, and Amanda Wright Higginbotham (Eric) of Birmingham; five great-grandchildren, Lauren Morris, Lindsey Morris and Michael Morris all of Alexander City and Jacob Couch and Macy Couch of Jacksonville. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 i�½" 7:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel services will be held on Tuesday at 2PM with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
