Carl Jones

Carl C. Jones, age 78, of Birmingham, passed away September 19, 2008. He was the owner of Carl Jones Auto Parts and a member of Clay United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Metro East Masonic Lodge #928 and the Zamora Shrine. He was a charter member and Hall of Fame inductee of the Alabama Auto Racing Pioneers. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion Self Jones and sister Shirley J. Marcum. Graveside services will be on Monday September 22, at 1pm with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens Trussville. Brother Patrick Giles officiating. Visitation will be from 12pm until 1pm Monday. He is survived by his son William Leake (Gwen) of Argo, mother in law Evelyn Self of Clay, brother Dr. Christopher Jones of Clay, goddaughters Carla L. Screws (Chris) and Kelly Jean Leake. Pallbearers will be members of the Alabama Auto Racing Pioneers.
