Boyce Higgins

Mr. Boyce B. Higgins age 81 entered his Heavenly home, his family by his side. He was a loving husband, wonderful dad, pawpaw, brother in-law, uncle and friend. He was born in Bostic NC, lived briefly in Knoxville, TN and a longtime resident of Birmingham, AL. He was a former member of 38 years at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, and current member at Moody First Baptist Church. Boyce was retired from Overnite Transportation Co. He served on Birmingham Park and Recreation Board for several years. He was President of Killough Springs neighborhood Association, and President of the Huffman Community for numerous years. He was later elected President of the Birmingham Citizens Advisory Board. He was very instrumental in the development and upgrades of local parks in the area. He was an avid Tennessee fan and loved working in his yard growing beautiful flowers. He is survived by his loving wife Judy of 60 years, his children, Kathy Higgins Edwards (Vic), Jeff Higgins (Jeanne), Ben Higgins (Sally), 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, sister in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the funeral home chapel with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East with Brother Brad Mosley officiating. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville is in charge of arrangements.
