Bobby Jolley

Bobby Wayne Jolley, age 62, of Birmingham went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Born and raised in Ider, AL he graduated from Ider High School and attended United Electronics of Alabama. He is preceded in death by his father Lester Jolley, and grandson Timothy Dalton Jolley. Bobby was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy Whiteside Jolley; his mother, Christine Grace Jolley; sons, Steven Wayne (Julie), Timmy (Jenny); grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Dylan, Hayden, and Madison; brothers, Rayburn (Gail), Randy (Susan), Ricky (Lisa) and James (Julia); many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family; beloved animals, Sam, Daisy, and Missie. Bobby worked for GCR (formerly Lynn Strickland) for 35 years. He retired for Serra Nissan in August after 9 years of service, he continued to work part time as a "Porter." Bobby loved his job and the people he worked with. Bobby's favorite hobby was fishing- a family tradition taught by his father and then he taught his sons and grandchildren. Bobby will lie in state at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 5pm-7pm. Services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 10:00am at Jefferson Memorial Chapel followed by a service at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel in Ider, AL where family and friends can visit before burial at Fuller Cemetery in Ider, AL.
