Willie Mahaffey

Bill Mahaffey, age 81 passed away on October 4, 2018. Services will be on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church on Oxmoor Road in Homewood. The Rev. Bobby Scales and Rev. Reed Crotty will be officiating over the services. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2:00. Funeral services will begin at 2:00. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. He was born on November 11, 1936 in Tarrant, AL. Bill was the tenth child of Gordon and Sophronia Mahaffey. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by eight of his older siblings, Charlie Mahaffey, Matt Mahaffey, Martha Beasley, Louise Pickett, Doris Mahaffey, Ebbie Jones and Frank Mahaffey. Survivors include the love of his life for 49 years, wife, Kathie Mahaffey, daughter, Jenny Mahaffey and son, Jeff Mahaffey. He is also survived by his brother, Bobby Mahaffey, sister, Jean Mahaffey, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved cat, Colby. Bill loved his family and his church. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan. He loved to travel with family and friends to countries abroad as well as in the USA. He loved the beach and the mountains. He never met a stranger.
