Beverly Dorsey

Beverly Carla Thomas Dorsey, 63, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born on February 2, 1963, in Gadsden, Alabama, Beverly lived a life defined by compassion and an unwavering love for her family.

Beverly was a devoted wife to David Russell Dorsey 42 years. Together they raised three children, to whom Beverly passed down her voracious love of reading and learning. Beverly loved showering those around her with thoughtful presents. She was passionate about her community, serving as a dedicated troop leader for the Girl Scouts of America, supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and volunteering countless hours at her children's schools and public libraries.

She is survived by: her husband, David Russell Dorsey; her children, Kera Elisabeth Dorsey and husband Phil Doster, Stefan Thomas Dorsey and wife Desiree, and David Ryan Dorsey and wife Kirstin Sockwell; her grandchildren, Amelia, Asa and Adalynn; her brother, Brent Thomas, her brother, Bruce Thomas, and Beth Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margie Brown Thomas and Carlton Marion Thomas, and her sister, Margie Lisa Thomas.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Jefferson Memorial at 1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Beverly's legacy of love and strength will live on, and she will be so greatly missed.
