Betty Carol Logan Reeder

Betty lost her battle with CNS Lymphoma on December 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lehman Jefferson Logan and Mamie Woods Logan; and her husband of 50 years, Seabe Thomas Reeder. Betty graduated from Phillips High School in 1945 and attended the University of Alabama. She had a career in the insurance business. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Trussville where she taught Sunday school for children and adults. She served as president of the Eastern Division of Birmingham Business Women of America. She enjoyed knitting and working with ceramics. Betty was a most generous and giving person. Survivors are daughters, Roxanne Reeder Elliott (Bill), and Cindy Reeder (Douglas Hart); grandchildren, Sunnie Gillespie (Mark), and Brooks Elliott (Tanisha); great-grandchildren, Justin Gillespie (Angela) and Austin Gillespie, Nathaniel and Gabriel Elliott. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 5-7pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 10:00am at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
