Born on October 15, 1925, and just days before her 89th birthday Betty Jo Roddam Morrison left this earth for Heaven on October 10, at 8:20 PM. Her husband of 70 years, Warren L. Morrison went to Heaven June 2, 2012. She lived her entire life in the Center Point, Pinson, and Trussville area. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a true example of Southern hospitality. Her cooking skills are well known by all who ever sat at her table. She was a very hard worker and no task was too difficult for her to try. She is leaving a legacy of strength and resilience. A charter member of Center Point First United Methodist Church, Betty was a life-long Methodist. She and Warren were members of the Good Samaritan SS Class. During her early years she attended Taylor's Chapel Methodist Church where she and Warren met. Betty loved her parents and her brothers and sisters, all who preceded her in death. Parents, Travis and Willie Pearl Tucker Roddam, brothers Marvin, Roland, Floyd, and Carl, and her sisters, Vera Roddam Franklin, Florence Roddam Egger.
Betty's life was spent caring for those she loved. Left to mourn her death are two daughters, Carolyn Morrison Ford (Brian) and Marilyn Morrison Deming (Anthony). Four grandchildren, Kristi Ford Torbert, Ann Deming Cox (Kevin), Maria Deming Sanders (Cam), and Kevin Ford (Jodi). Great-grandchildren, Renee Cox Walker (Josh), Laura Torbert, Ryan Cox, Tyler Cox, Joey Torbert, Travis Torbert, and Katelyn Ford. Special niece, Jan Egger.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to your favorite charity or take your own Mother a gift. Proverbs 31: 10-31. A visitation will be held at 10:00 Tuesday October 14 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville with a funeral at 11:00. Interment to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Jefferson Memorial will be directing.
