Betty Jo LaVecchia

Betty Jo LaVecchia, age 93, born December, 29, 1930, in Birmingham, AL, passed away June 27, 2024, in Birmingham, AL. 

She was a graduate of Ramsay High School, and later worked as a manager at Birmingham Pool Center for many years. She attended Argo Christian Fellowship Church in Argo, AL. 

Survivors include her sons, David F. LaVecchia (Mary Jane) and Claude N. LaVecchia (Barbara); daughter, Michelle L. Parvin (Barry); 9 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren who affectionately called her "MawMaw."

She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. LaVecchia; mother, Dona M. Barksdale; father, James S. Barksdale; siblings, James Barksdale, Frankie Brady, and Lee Hobbs; daughter, Donna Consola. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 12:00 PM, Pastor Jerry Mahner from Argo Christian Fellowship officiating. Interment will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Arrangements under the direction of Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens.
