Betty Giles

Betty Jo Bradley Giles, 79 of Trussville passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016. She was born in Sulligent, Alabama on January 4, 1937 to the late Ruth and Floyd Bradley. Her family moved to Tarrant, Alabama in 1941. After graduating high school she worked at First National Bank in Tarrant where she met Leroy Giles, married and raised her family before moving to Trussville in 2002. The grace and kindness that she extended to all she met were examples of her strong faith in God. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leroy, and brother, Jim Bradley. She is survived by her children, Cherri Hovies, Margie (Mike) Holloway, Barry (Kathy) Giles, Laura (Kirk) Smith, and Amy (Tim) Robinson; her grandchildren Abby (Jake) Merrill, Molly (Garrett) Lyvers, Maria Smith, Hannah Giles, Conner Robinson, and Doster Robinson; great grandchildren Adalynn Merrill and Charlie Lyvers; brother Robert Bradley and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Jan. 9 from 10am until 12pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. Funeral service will begin in the Chapel at 12pm, with interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).
