Betty Bradberry

d. January 31, 2016

Age 85, a life-long resident of Birmingham, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2016. Betty was born August 8, 1930 to Thomas Wesley and Sarah Delila (Heard) Rogers in Birmingham. She attended Martin Elementary School and graduated from Phillips High School. Betty married the love of her life, Roland E. Bradberry, on January 15, 1949. They were married for 53 years until his passing in 2002. She was preceded in death by her son David K. Bradberry in 1969, and by six half siblings, two brothers, Buddy and TW Rogers, and two sisters, Sarah Coleman and Katie Pridmore and a precious grandson, Daniel Maximus Bradberry. She is survived by her children, Melody B. Davidson (John) of Kansas City, Timothy E. Bradberry (Lily) of Pflugerville, TX, and Christopher W. Bradberry (Rene) of Birmingham; her brother, Gary Rogers of Birmingham, and six grandchildren, Kyle C. Bradberry, Katelyn B Andersen (Adam), Joshua P Bradberry, Caleb P Bradberry, Zachary P Bradberry, and Isabella P Bradberry. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fountain Heights until its closing in the mid 1960s and then attended and served at Huffman Baptist for many years. After her children were in school, Betty worked as an office manager at Marks Fitzgerald in Center Point for more than 20 years. She was a blessing to everyone who met her. Betty never met a stranger without transforming them with her radiant smile into a friend. She loved people and spent her life serving others. Betty was wife, mother, sister and friend. She loved the LORD and taught her children to love HIM. She saw every day as a blessing, regularly proclaiming that "this is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!" Her presence will be missed by all that loved her. Our loss is Heaven's gain. The family will receive friends and extended family at a visitation Thursday evening, February 4, from 5-7pm and at the viewing on Friday afternoon, February 5, from 1-2pm, followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm.
