Betty Archer

Betty Joyce Skinner Archer, age 76, of Pinson, AL, was called home on February 1st, 2018.

Betty was born on October 2, 1941 in Birmingham, AL. Betty grew up in Bayview, AL, and was a 1960 graduate of Minor High School. Betty married the love of her life, Charles P. Archer in 1961. The couple settled in Pinson in the early 1960's, where they raised their three children; Cindy, Doug and Richard. Betty was a dedicated and hard worker. She proudly retired in 2006 from Braswell Furniture, where she worked in the business office for many years. Betty was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a "Grandmother" to her 4 grandchildren. Betty loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company. Her family's favorite memory will always be the overcooked rolls. Betty was known for her quick whit and devotion to her family. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Archer, and her beloved daughter, Cindy (Rio) Connell. She is survived by sons Doug (Kim) Archer, and Richard Archer, loving "Grandmother" of Cameron Connell, Christina Connell, Jordan Archer, and Tyler Archer. Family and friends will gather at Jefferson Memorial Home, 1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL, on Monday, February 5th for Visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Service at 12:00 p.m. and graveside service to immediately follow.
