Berl Dempsey Bailey, he was born on July 3, 1921 in Decatur, AL and passed away on May 31, 2015. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 where he served in China-Burma-India Theater with the 464th Anti Aircraft Artillery and received two bronze stars. He started employment with Sloss Furnaces and later U.S. Pipe, Walter Energy, he worked there for 42 years and then retiring in 1983. He was a member of VFW, Elks, Concordia Club and Birmingham Mustang Club. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Bailey and his son, Bill Bailey. He is survived by his sons, Ronald Bailey and his wife, Sharon and Dennis Bailey; daughter-in-law, Joy Bailey; grandsons, Chris Bailey (Glennette), Johnathan Bailey, Brent Bailey (Candice) and Scott Bailey (Karen); great grandchildren, Blake, Brooke, Jacob, Alex and Preston Bailey. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 5 to 7PM. Graveside services will be on Thursday at 11 AM at Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Gary Fisher will be officiating over the services. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
