Barry Walker

Barry Clark Walker age 66 of Chelsea, AL passed away on February 6, 2009. Barry's life call was to be a teacher of maths and physics, as well as coaching basketball, tennis, volleyball, math team, robotics, and science Olympiad competitions. During 34 years of service, he touched student's lives with his love for them and teaching God's love to them, emphasizing their uniqueness- and how much the Heavenly Father loves them. Barry's heart had so much love and kindness which he shared every where he went. During the past 5 years he has studied, mastered, and taught teachers to "model" sciences and math. Students he taught are living all over the world and nothing excited him more than hearing from them, and seeing them again was just beyond happiness. He was a teacher at Briarwood Christian High School (1985-current) Faith Academy, Manila, Philippines (1978-1985), John Carroll High School (1977-1978), Bozeman Senior High School (1972-1973), and was in the United States Air Force (1961-1964). Services will be on Monday February 9, at 1pm at Briarwood Presbyterian Church with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens Trussville. Visitation will be from 5 until 7pm Sunday at Jefferson Memorial funeral home. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Vann Walker, daughter Jennifer Walker Nichols and her husband Mark E. Nichols, their children Bradley E. Nichols, Wesley B. Nichols, Trey D. Nichols, daughter Jessica Marie Walker and her husband Larry M. Hoagland, their children Eva Yancey, Walker Yancey, son Stephen Vann Walker and his wife Donna Walker, their children Stephen Walker , and Abbey Walker, son Thomas Clark Walker and his wife Angel Walker and their children Reegan Walker and Cole Walker, mother Marjorie Berry Walker, sister Karan Walker Keim (William), brother J. Terry Walker (Rhonda). In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Briarwood Christian School; Barry Walker fund for Families in Financial Crisis c/o Dr. Barrett Mosbacher.
