Barbara Salemi

Barbara Salemi, 93, passed away on October 20, 2024, in Birmingham, AL.

Barbara Salemi was born on April 10, 1931 in Birmingham, AL, to Curtis Hooten and Gertrude Hooten.

Barbara graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1949 and went on to earn a RN degree from Carraway School of Nursing in 1952. 

Barbara married Henry Salemi on June 30, 1952 in Birmimgham . The couple had 3 children, Debra Salemi, Sherry Salemi Cummings, and Hank Salemi 

Barbara was best known for being a loving mother, a great cook, and someone always ready for fun. 

Barbara is survived by Debra Salemi - daughter, of Trussville.granddaughters Allison Burke of Margaret, Amy Crittenden, of Hoover, and Claire Salemi of Libertyville IL. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Kathleen Salemi of Libertyville IL, 6 great granddaughters, and her dog Bo. 

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry Salemi, and her children Sherry Cummings and Hank Salemi. 

The service for Ms Barbara Salemi will be held on Thursday, at 10:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation: Thursday, at 9:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.

Burial: Jefferson Memorial Gardens East, AL.

Memorial donations can be made in Barbara's name to Huffman United Methodist Church. .
