Barbara Ann Rutter, of Trussville, Alabama, formally of Newcomerstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at UAB-St. Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama after a long fight against rheumatoid arthritis and kidney disease.
Barbara was born in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, February 22,1964, to George and Margaret Rutter and later moved to Newcomerstown, Ohio. Barbara graduated from Newcomerstown High School in 1982 and was a long-time horse, dog and animal lover.
She is survived by her three siblings and their families, brothers Randy (Kala) Rutter and Jeff (Chris) Rutter of Trussville and Odenville, Alabama respectively and sister Judy (Rutter) VanVoorhis (Ron) of Indiana and Phoenix and by loving nieces, nephews and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Davita Springs Dialysis Center, the medical staff of Christ’s Health and The Legacy Assisted Living Center staff as well as the compassionate and skillful doctors, nurses and medical staff at UAB-St. Vincent Hospital.
The family also wishes to thank Pastor Matt Roberti of Faith Community Fellowship Church and Pastor Randy Overstreet of The Church at Liberty Park. A gravesite ceremony was held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville.
