Barbara Hensley

Barbara L. Hensley, age 50, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on December 6, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native of Birmingham, Alabama. Barbara was a member of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church in Nashville. Barbara was a graduate of the University of Alabama where she earned a B.A and M.A. She has worked as a guidance advisor for Middle Tennessee State University for nearly 20 years where she helped unprepared students choose the right path for their lives. She is a cancer survivor and was an advocate for the American Cancer Society and the Kidney Walk.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, James V. Hensley Jr. She is survived by her mother, Helen B, Hensley of Birmingham, AL and brother, James (Karen) V. Hensley III of Fort Walton Beach, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Five Mile Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
