Ashley Bates

Ashley Nicole Bishop Bates, age 30 and her 6 year old daughter, Ashlynn Skye Bates passed away to be with their Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2012. Nicole graduated from Erwin High School in 1999. She was on the color Guard and also played soccer. She was voted class cut-up every year because when she entered a room the whole room lit up and she put smiles on everyone she met. She was a paralegal and has worked for several attorneys in Birmingham. She and her fianceI�, Vincent Saylor just recently bought a home in Morris AL. She was enjoying decorating the new home and being a full time mom to her children. Ashlynn was just like her Mom, her eyes as blue as sky. She attended Snow Rogers Elementary School and was a cheerleader for the Gardendale Rockets. She and her mom loved to dance and they were often seen at the Gardendale Ball Park. Nicole and Ashlynn were our little angels, loved by all and will truly be missed by all. Nicole was predeceased by her brother, Jordan Bishop; her father, Randy Bishop; grandfathers, Orville Bishop, John Sistrunk and Tommy Duchock. Ashlynn was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Marcia Hall. Nicole and Ashlynn are survived by, Nicole's mother and step-father, Lynn Sistrunk Bishop and Ollis Ireland; Nicole's fianceI� and Ashlynn's Step-father, Vincent Saylor; Nicole's son and Ashlynn's brother, Jonathan Kyle Bates Jr.; Ashlynn's dad, Jonathan Kyle Bates, Sr.; Nicole's grandmothers, Linda Bishop and Nell Duchock; Ashlynn's paternal grandparents, Rhonda Saylor and Charles Saylor, and Nelson and Trish Bates; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24 beginning at 10:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel Services beginning at 12:00 PM with Rev. Roger Hendon officiating and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
