Archie Curry Jr.

March 23, 1929 — August 6, 2018

Archie Ervin Curry, Jr. age 89 of Birmingham, passed away August 6, 2018. He was born in Woodlawn, raised in South East Lake. He went by various names throughout his life: “Preacher” when he was younger, Daddy, Poppy and Uncle. He was a plasterer, police officer and a sales executive. A member of 1st United Methodist Church of Trussville, Ervin was an elder in the Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Ervin was a past president of Grayson Valley Country Club and an avid golfer, a Master Mason, loved a good joke and life. He was preceded in death by his wife Anne Masterson Curry, and his sister Dorothy Tate. Survivors include his children, Michael Curry, Pat Curry (Carolyn), and Kevin Anne Curry Whitehead (Brad); his beloved grandchildren, Brandi Curry Jones (Alan), Jenny Curry Moore (Brian), Lindsay Curry Dawson, Benjamin and Andrew Whitehead; great grandchildren, Anna and Alaina Jones, Jacob Moore and Polly Dawson; sisters, Sue Shivers, Ann Pogue, and special friend Eva Sharp. Chapel services will be Thursday, August 9th at 2pm with visitation from 1pm until service time. In lieu of flowers make donations to First United Methodist Church of Trussville in Ervin's Memory.
