Annie Sargent

Mrs. Annie Laura Sargent, age 85, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021.  She was born July 31, 1935 in Goodwater, Alabama to Lola Mae and William Artest Turner.  Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George Hubert Sargent, her grandson, Brandon Luster, and her brothers, J.W. Turner and Paul Turner.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother (“Mamaw”), sister, aunt, friend, and prayer warrior.  She and her husband faithfully attended Gospel Assembly Church where they raised their family, worshipped, and served together for over 50 years.  Her door was always open, and she never met a stranger.  If you were in her life, you were family.  She is survived by all of her 7 children, Danny Sargent (Terri), Daryl Sargent (Denise), Derendal Yadyasar (Alex), Dondi Sargent, Donna Watkins (Randy), Darick Sargent (Maria), and Phillip Sargent (Anne); 14 grandchildren, Rick Sargent, Matthew Sargent, Asa Sargent, Jeremy Sargent, Jonathan Sargent, Lauri Galbreath, Leslie Carter, Leah Allen, Chris Luster, Julie Dick, Kevin Sargent, Kelly Hudgens, Justin Sargent, and Kristin Mahieu; and 38 (soon to be 40) great-grandchildren.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Gospel Assembly Church, Springville, Alabama, with a memorial service following at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville.
