Annie Akins

Akins, Annie Ruth, age 78, of Trussville, Alabama, and formerly of Trenton, Tennessee and Warsaw, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014. She was born on August 26, 1935 in Trenton, Tennessee. She was a devoted mother and loved dearly by her family. She attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Trenton, Tennessee for many years. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Willard Young Akins, her brother Cecil McMinn, Jr., and her parents Cecil McMinn, Sr. and Annie B. McMinn. Survivors include her son, Marshall Akins (Kelley) of Trussville, Alabama, stepdaughter, Katherine Waid (Mack) of Blountsville, Alabama and her grandchildren Michael Taylor Akins and Alyssa Christine Akins of Trussville, Alabama. Graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Trenton, Tennessee, on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Warsaw Christian School, 909 South Buffalo Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
