Amy Lofton

Amy Elizabeth Turner Lofton, age 90, passed away on February 23, 2020 in Birmingham, Al., the youngest of eight children born to John Thomas Horton and Nora Groom Horton. She was a devoted follower of Christ and was a member of Grace Community Church at Deerfoot. She loved her career as an Ostomy nurse and retired from Baptist Medical Center-Montclair. Her green thumb caused her yard to always be filled with the most beautiful flowers. Anyone who ever met her was at sometime a recipient of one of "Miss Amy's famous pecan pies". Mrs. Lofton was predeceased by her parents, seven siblings, and husbands, Logan Donald Turner and Stanton Dennis Lofton, Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Arnett (Chris) of Daphne, Al; one son, Steven Randall Turner (Daniel Cooreman) of New York City. She was known as "Memaw" to three grandchildren, Keith Nolin of Saraland, Al.; Kristi Wright (Michael) of Knoxville, Tn.; and Kasey Fort (Drew) of Grand Bay Al.; three step-grandchildren, MSgt. Blake Arnett of Fort Scott, il,; Christina Atchinson (Nicholas) of Creola, Al.. and Jonathan Arnett (Heather) of Daphne, Al.; eight great-grandchildren, Victoria Wright, Hannah Wright, Mikela Wright, Elizabeth Wright and John Wesley Wright, all of Knoxville, Tn., Dylan Casstevens and Madison Casstevens of Spanish Fort, Al., and Saila-Kate Fort of Grand Bay, Al.; numerous nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends who went about and beyond to help her and Mr. Stan in their later years. Friends may call at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, Al. on February 27th from 5pm - to 7pm. Funeral service and interment at Jefferson Memorial will be held Friday February 28th at 10am. Donations in her memory may be made to the United Ostomy Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
