Folse, Albert Joseph Sr., age 87, of Birmingham, AL passed away on January 16, 2011. He was born in Thibodaux, LA September 9, 1923. He was a World War II Army Veteran with service in the Pacific, when the war ended he served with the occupation troops in Japan. Upon discharge in January 1946 he went to work with Southern Bell Telephone in Birmingham, AL during his employment the name of the company changed to South Central Bell. He retired in February 1985 with 39 years of service at the time of retirement he was in management as a Central Office Manager. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Hoover, AL. he was a life member of the VFW Post 668 in Birmingham, AL. A life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and a past member of their bowling league. He was the son of the late George and Marie Folse of Thibodaux, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freddie McKelvy Folse; sons, Albert J. Folse, Sr., Wayne Allen Folse, and Dennis Len Folse; brothers, Joseph Folse of Marrero, LA, George Folse, Sr. of Grenta, LA; sisters, Ruth Folse Richoux of Metairie,LA, and Grace Folse of Thibodaux,LA. Survivors include a sister, Olive Leonard of Thibodaux,LA; son Kevin Clyde Folse (Vickie); daughter, Denise Folse Zekoff (Pete); 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 12pm at Jefferson Memorial Chapel in Trussville, AL with visitation will be one hour prior to service.
