Agnes Jane Powell, 91, of Jasper, AL died Friday at Walker Baptist Medical Center after a long illness. She was born August 1, 1922 in Docena, AL to Rev. Lucius B. and Sarah Pearl Brown. She was the widow of Cullman T. Powell, after a long and happy marriage of 34 years. She was previously married (1940) to Drennen T. Weems of Birmingham until his death in 1967. She is survived by two sons, William H. Weems of Blount County and Danny E. Weems of Birmingham; one step-son, Thomas D. Powell of Charlotte, NC and one step-daughter, Lisa F. Mellott of Jasper. She is also survived by five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She had three brothers and three sisters, all six now deceased. The funeral for Agnes Powell will take place on Tuesday, October 29 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Visitation will be at 1:00 and services at 2:00 at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
