A. G. Austin born July 4th, 1922 passed away after brief illness on April 7th, 2016. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Inez Austin, son Coy Austin, daughter Debbie Cureton (Fred), 9 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great/Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Tony Austin and daughter Sharon Austin. A.G. served in WWII in the 27th Army Regiment. He was a brick mason and employed at ABC Coke Plant (Tarrant, AL) for many years prior to his retirement in 1982. A.G. was a simple, hard working man who loved his family above all, especially the children. He was never happier than when many children were present. He loved to talk with his friends and was always eager to share some of his many stories he had experienced during his long life of 93 years. He was a big man with a big personality and will be truly missed by all who knew him. All services will be held at Jefferson Memorial (Trussville, AL). Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2016. Services will start immediately thereafter. Mr. Austin will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Cemetery (Birmingham, AL).
